About Us
I love toys.
As a kid of the 1970s and 80s who grew up playing with action figures, vehicles, play sets and more, I spent many hours creating imagined stories and worlds for my Mego, Ideal, Kenner, Fisher Price, Mattel, Hasbro and various other lines of toys. This was a fundamental part of my childhood and still resonates with me decades later.
As an adult toy enthusiast, I’m blown away and inspired by the leaps and bounds in highly-detailed sculpting, paint, articulation and accessories the toy manufacturers (both big and independent players) have made when compared to my childhood toys. Likewise, the vast diversity of offerings across fantasy, military, monster, adventure, and science fiction genres offered today is something I never would have believed could ever exist.
Given this excellent state of action figures and accessories in the world today, and as a fan and collector of several of them, I can’t help but want to add my own contribution, and let my imagination enhance the modern toys we love. Also, I can’t ignore the community of like-minded grown up “kids” who’ve continued to embrace what brought them joy as kids into our adulthood. You inspire me.
As a mostly 1/12 scale (Mezco One:12, Marvel Legends, G.I. Joe: Classified Series, Operation: Monster Force, Action Force etc.) and slightly larger scale (Mythic Legions, Cosmic Legions, Figure Obscura, Animal Warriors of the Kingdom etc.), I wanted accessories, environments, and vehicles to expand the display and playability options. Of course, the examples of these from my childhood are my starting point, but I also wanted to create offerings that were on par with the highly detailed and elevated design of today’s 6”-7”(ish) scale action figure lines.
Lastly, as a maker, I do what I do to create these things as a designer first. As a creative industry professional with an art and design education, I put all of my knowledge and discipline into every product and bring as much authenticity, environmental and architectural accuracy, and detail as I can, so long as the products are first and foremost, fun. Secondly, I do whatever I can to make products at an accessible price point. I’m not interested in creating products of “exclusivity”. If I have to make compromises, it’s to make my products accessible to as many interested folks as possible.
Everything we make is produced in small batches in a tiny studio here in the city of Pasadena in Los Angeles County; a city who’s best known for their New Year’s Day “Rose Parade”, KROQ 106.7 FM, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and my favorite piece of trivia, the birthplace of one of the greatest bands of all time, VAN HALEN. Trivia aside, every thing we do is meant to let you and your own imagination take your action figures to higher levels of display and play, and enhance however else you choose to enjoy your hobby.
Have fun.
